Welcome to
Sheriff Hutton's
monthly village market

About Us

Sheriff Hutton's monthly market will usually be held on the third Sunday of every month at the village hall from 1030am-1.30pm. Our next market is SUNDAY 17 March 2024.

With traditional market stalls outside and smaller stalls indoors, our artisan (and where possible eco-friendly) market hosts an array of local, independent traders selling a variety of goods. These are often homemade, home grown or locally produced, add to a cafe and here you have the perfect Sunday village event welcoming visitors from near & far.

Bring your plastic containers to refill with eco-friendly household products. Grab your shopping bags and fill them with groceries, baking, drink, pet treats, art, gifts, beauty products, interiors. haberdashery, plants and more!

The event is organised by villagers and raises funds for local community groups and organisations within Sheriff Hutton. Since starting up in 2019, the market has raised over £24k for the community, £10,000 in 2023 alone.
In 2023 the village market donated £3000 to local groups in support of their activities.

The cafe serves an array of homemade hot and cold food and is run by a different local group each month. Thanks to your support, to date the café has raised over £20,000. The profits have been retained by each  group hosting the café.

Stallholder quote
"Just wanted to thank you for a lovely day today.  I really enjoyed being part of the festive market. I have been coming to the Sunday Market for a few months now and it never ceases to amaze me how helpful and friendly everyone is.  Today  I had a number of people come up and tell me they had bought from me before and would like more – a wonderful feeling. Thank you for helping me to build my very small venture and best wishes to you all for a very Merry Christmas I'll see you in 2020."
